Last-Message Recovery
The loss of a child is one of the most traumatic events for a family, and when the child commits suicide, there can be a lot of unanswered questions. Technology and mobile devices are a part of our children’s lives, and often parents don’t have access to their children's devices, potentially preventing their ability to access possible answers if something happens. N1D’s Last-Message Recovery service is for Michigan families that have lost a child to suicide and would like to get text messages, emails and other information from the child’s device. While technology continually improves security, which can make it difficult to recover data off of some locked devices, our forensic capabilities and tools are also continually improving. N1D’s Last-Message Recovery service is offered at “no-cost” to any Michigan family that has lost a child, up to age 18, to suicide. If you would like to discuss our Last-Message Recovery service, please contact us for more details on the service.
FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation
FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation promotes understanding and provides education for children and adults with special needs through therapeutic opportunities in the arts, recreation and leisure that enrich its clients, their families and the greater community. Founded in 1951, FAR is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and uses creative arts and recreational experiences as therapeutic tools to develop the potential of people with special needs and individuals, as teammates, as family members and as members of the larger community. N1D recognizes the importance of FAR’s work and mission, as well as the amazing effect FAR has on the community, and their holiday fundraiser is a highlight of N1D’s annual calendar. More information about the work FAR does can be found on their website (www.far-therapy.org).

TSA Outdoors
The Salvation Army Outdoors initiative provides opportunities for kids of all ages to learn new skills, explore the outdoors, and experience exciting adventures. The Salvation Army Outdoors’ goal is to enhance programs, to equip leaders and to engage friends. The Salvation Army Outdoors initiative comes alive through existing Character Building, Community Center, Day Camp, and Summer Camp programs. Leaders are always looking for new ideas, experiences, and materials that their youth will love. Science-Based, conservation educational curricula like Growing Up Wild and Project Learning Tree provide hundreds of tried and tested ideas and activities that engage youth. N1D participates on TSA’s events, where members of the N1D team are able to hear and learn from those working to improve children’s access and opportunities to awesome outdoor activities. More information can be found on their website (www.centralyouthnetwork.com/tsa-outdoors).
